What's really holding you back? Featured
Written by SL WellsThe truth is you are the only one holding you back. No one can control your thoughts, beliefs or decisions. Even in the midst of eminent danger, familial pressure or difficult circumstances, you always have a choice. The more important question is, what is the story you’ve told yourself about who or what is holding you back? No one knows your inner truth but you. No one else’s voice or opinion is more important than your own. God hard wired certain tendencies & desires in you. There is a certain amount of intrinsic greatness embedded at your core. This is often muffled by the noise of the world, the chatter of parents, family, teachers, leaders or friends. Have you allowed yourself to become co-dependent on others giving you permission or telling you who, what or when? Take a moment to truthfully answer the 2 questions I asked you to consider.
The truth is the power to move forward has always been reliant upon you. No one can attain the greatness that was meant to be realized through you. It can only be accessed by getting quiet & asking the question in spirit & in truth. You have to be still. You have to listen. You have to decide to move forward after you tap into that inner knowing of who you really are.
You are here on purpose. There is a divine assignment within you waiting to be acknowledged, waiting to be accepted. Wouldn’t today be a good day to accept the greatness of who you are? I believe it was Martin Luther King Jr. who said “all can’t be famous, but all can be great, because all can be of service”. No matter in what capacity you serve its great coming through you.
Acknowledge the story you told yourself about what’s holding you back, accept the truth about what is really holding you back then decide in this moment to move beyond it. Own up to who you’re not & accept who you are. It’s then and only then you can move forward in your own divine brilliance. You can only go so far living a lie. It is heavier than any weight we can manufacture.
It’s ok to let go of the lie, the story you once believed. There is a whole new world to discover underneath. Here is the key, set yourself free, breathe and just be. Underneath it all is who you’re meant to be.
